LEICESTER SYMPHONY ORCHESTRA 2025/26 SEASON

Leicester Symphony Orchestra make a welcome return to the Hall with their 2025/26 season, bringing with them two amazing soloists! Experience Classic FM’s rising star, Ariel Lanyi, performing Saint-Saëns’ exciting Fifth Piano Concerto, as Dominic Piers Smith, pianist and winning F1 aerodynamicist, takes on Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Concerto.

The season finishes with an orchestral celebration of rhythm and dance not to be missed!

Dominic Piers Smith, concert pianist by night and championship winning F1 aerodynamicist by day, joins the LSO to play Rachmaninov’s Piano Concerto No. 2 – voted No. 1 in the 2025 Classic FM Hall of Fame. Brace yourself for symphonic fireworks! Shostakovich’s Festival Overture begins the concert, which culminates with Tchaikovsky’s passionate Fifth Symphony.

2 – 2:30pm Piano Masterclass
Dominic Piers Smith will lead a master class for 30 local pianists and their families. To take part in this you must have a ticket for the concert and be at Grade 3 or above standard on the piano. Bring a piece of music you are working on and you may be selected to play with Dominic. Free when you have a ticket, but a place must be booked here.

An orchestral celebration of dance and rhythm! Bernstein’s West Side Story bursts with Broadway flair, while Rachmaninov and Grieg offer sweeping, dance-inspired works. Toe-tapping, heart-stirring, and bursting with orchestral colour – join the LSO for their virtuosic season finale.

6:30 – 7pm Meet LSO players and their instruments
A opportunity to meet some of the instruments playing in the concert with their players and find out more about the LSO.
