HANDEL Messiah

Stephen Bullamore conductor
Accompanying orchestra and soloists to be confirmed

The majority of Handel's work was popular during his lifetime and then fell into obscurity, but the Messiah has endured.

This work has strong historic associations with Leicestershire. The first parish performance of Messiah was at Church Langton, causing traffic jams and every inn in the area was fully booked! The Leicester Philharmonic Choir chose the work for their first concert on Christmas Day 1886 and for many years the Phil’s Messiah was part of Leicester’s Christmas tradition.

This is the new rescheduled date from Saturday 21 March 2020.

All tickets, including pre-booked venue parking, will remain valid for the new date. If you need to contact us to discuss your booking please email dmh-office@leicester.gov.uk
