The Grimethorpe Colliery Band is probably the world's most famous colliery band with an international reputation for excellence on both the the concert and contest stage. Featured on film, TV and radio, the band is justifiably proud of its history and achievements.

This concert, promoted by the Leicester South Salvation Army Band, is purely to raise funds for the ongoing work of the Salvation Army. On a daily basis the Salvation Army works tirelessly to meet the need and cater for those less fortunate both locally and worldwide.

After the cost of hiring the band and De Montfort Hall, every penny raised will go to the work of the Salvation Army.
