Rossi The Battle of the Somme, with silent film

A unique programme of music influenced by World War I opens the season. After being commissioned by the Imperial War Museum to write a score for the poignant 1916 film Battle of the Somme, contemporary British composer Laura Rossi’s work will be performed to accompany a screening of the film.

Film Music Masterclass by Laura Rossi

Film composer Laura Rossi is taking a one-hour film music masterclass aimed at musicians, film makers and those who are just interested in film music. 

Laura will talk about the process of writing film music using examples from films she has scored including London to Brighton, The Cottage, Silent Shakespeare and The Battle of the Somme.
