The HM Band of the Blues and Royals will once again be performing in a concert at dmh in what is sure to be a full house to raise funds for LOROS, the Leicestershire and Rutland Hospice.
The Blues and Royals, consisting of 35 musicians, and under the leadership of Captain Tim Cooper, provides musical support for the army, carrying out ceremonial duties in London and Windsor. The tradition of the band means that it has always been associated with the monarchy and therefore has always been of the highest profile and standard.
Adding to the local connections, there will be performances by a Massed Male Voice Choir conducted by Clive Rogers. The Massed Choir, led by the Leicester City Male Voice Choir hope to include around a hundred members of choirs throughout the Midlands.
Also appearing is the award-winning Lancaster Boys School Choir.
Special guest for the evening will be soloist soprano Nicki Kennedy, who has won several awards for her international performances. Finally compére for the evening will be the local well-known presenter Monica Winfield, who has regularly broadcast on BBC Radio Leicester and compéred many similar events.
